Thale (Tail), the Norwegian-made horror fantasy about a pair of crime-scene cleaners at a remote woodland cabin who stumble across a captive mute woman sporting a tail, made quite an impact last year when it made the festival rounds, including Screamfest, TIFF and South by Southwest. Now it's got an official theatrical release set for the US via XLrator Media, hitting screens on April 5th, preceded by an On Demand premiere on March 21st.

Directed by Aleksander Nordaas, Thale is based on Scandinavian folklore, specifically a female faerie creature known as the Huldra, which in the film is portrayed as a kind of succubus who has apparently been kept prisoner in a basement room for many years.
