I am really looking forward to Stoker. The posters alone have sold me on the film, and the fact that it’s directed by Park Chan-wook and produced by Ridley Scott just seals the deal. There’s a new poster out which adds a little more mystery to the messed-up family tale. It looks like a portrait of an almost disturbingly perfect, wasp-y family, but look a little closer and you’ll see Mia Wasikowska’s character is holding a pencil in her bloodied hand. There’s also a very prominently placed key around her neck. What can it be there for? I’m sure it unlocks something dark, and hidden ...
Here’s a refresher on the plot, the poster follows:
After India's (Wasikowska's) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother Evelyn (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.
