Back in September we ran a terrifying story about an evil-looking clown silently stalking the British town of Northampton (check out the story and some nightmarish images here), but now it turns out the ominous visitor was just one of many... and instead of just standing around looking like the soul-devouring minions of hell, the clowns are starting to get more aggressive.

According to The Guardian, clown sightings are on the rise in the UK, with the latest reports coming last Tuesday from the town of Gaywood in Norfolk, where locals reported seeing a stranger in a full clown suit walking the streets. The next night, police received another report of two clowns stalking and even chasing people at a park in the same area.
Although no actual assaults have been reported, authorities are beginning to express concern about the clown epidemic. Police Superintendent Carl Edwards is encouraging citizens to simply ignore the nightmarish visitors... which, if you've ever seen one of these (refer to our earlier story for some chilling pics) is easier said than done.

“The most effective way to behave if you are to see someone dressed up is to give no reaction – because that's what they are after,” Edwards told The Guardian. "Nobody has been assaulted and it appears that the people involved are waiting for a passerby to be startled by their appearance and run away, and then the clown runs after them for a short distance.”
