Last month, when we told you about the arrival of a new chapter in the dark fantasy epic The Bane of Yoto by award-winning author and artist Joshua Viola, we included a teaser for his next project – the first act in a three-part multimedia collaboration between the author and cyber-rock legend Celldweller, entitled Blackstar Act One: Purified.
A chilling futuristic novel based on themes and characters developed in Celldweller's concept album Wish Upon a Blackstar, the eBook will be accompanied by its own full-length soundtrack album, which runs the spectrum from dark ambient soundscapes to the signature electro-rock that rocketed Celldweller's founder Klayton to international fame.
The story of Blackstar takes place in the post-apocalyptic civilization of Central, ruled by a benevolent leader named Kaine, who gives his subjects access to Re:memory, an archive of humanity's collective thoughts. In this world we find Rezin, a “Reaper” with the ability to decrypt, steal and sell information. When Rezin accesses top-secret data in Re:memory, he finds himself pursued by Kaine's forces... while the knowledge he obtained soon begins to transform him, awakening powers beyond his control.
We're proud to offer you an exclusive sneak peek at the Blackstar Act One eBook, which today you can only download right here:
Be sure to stay tuned for a detailed breakdown of the novel and soundtrack album, both of which will be available for purchase tomorrow at the FiXT web store.
