We've learned some pretty macabre DIY crafts at how-to website Instructables.com... remember those creepy “vampire lollipops” that look like coagulated blood and plasma? Contributor and food fanatic Forkable has taken that concept to the next level with “Dexter's Blood Slide Suckers,” modeled after the TV killer's infamous box of trophies containing the blood-smears of his victims.

The recipe looks pretty basic (assuming you can be trusted around boiling water and sharp knives), employing only sugar, water, corn syrup and red food dye, non-stick mats or parchment paper to pour out the candy glass, a large knife to cut it into “slides,” and bamboo skewers or toothpicks to paint the “blood drops.”

Forkable suggests displaying the slides in a genuine slide case from a medical supply surplus store, and recommends donning latex gloves or using tweezers to serve and eat them – not only to keep your hands clean, but to “up the uncomfortable factor.”

“Even if you don’t know about the show, blood slides are still gross,” she says. “You can tell people they are blood samples infected with Ebola!”
