Gory British PSA Graphically Depicts the Perils of Texting While Driving

The dangers of texting behind the wheel have been portrayed in many safety films over the years, but possibly the most disturbing yet is this graphic spot from the UK – which seems to take a cue from Quentin Tarantino's Death Proof for its slow-motion, multi-angle depiction of a horrific multi-car collision and its bloody aftermath.

The PSA is just a segment from a half-hour educational film entitled Cow, produced by the Tredegar Comprehensive School and the Gwent Police Department in Wales. The multiple crash stunts were coordinated by the police, and the digital effects were rendered by Zipline Creative. The tragic story of a teenager named Cassie Cowan and her friends, Cow is obviously intended to scare those smart phones right out of young drivers' hands... and as you'll see, it does a pretty damn good job.

We've got many more horrifying PSAs to scare you straight... including this shocking ad designed to make sure you stay in school, and this NSFW collection of vintage scare ads from the past few decades.
