One of the most iconic creatures in the history of fictional monsters is no doubt the octopus-like Cthulhu, which was of course the creation of the late H.P. Lovecraft. Fans have for years been using Cthulhu as the basis for all sorts of fun and whacky creations, from perfumes to chess sets, USB plugs to horrifying holiday dinners. Cthulhu is everywhere, it seems, and now he's found himself up on a wall!
As we spotted over on Nerd Approved, this incredible wall lamp was handcrafted by Canadian artist Karl Dupere-Richer, and you might be surprised by the materials he used to bring the sea monster to life. The Cthulhu lamp is comprised entirely of found objects, and chair feet, bike tires, PVC pipes, cans and even a flower pot were all on the ingredients list. Now that's creative. R'lyeh, R'lyeh creative!
Unfortunately, the lamp is not currently for sale. The artist says he's not yet "sufficiently detached" enough from it to consider letting it go. Can ya blame him?!
