I don't know what life in elementary school cafeterias is like nowadays, but when I was a kid, in the 1990s, lunch time was not just about eating mom's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, it was also about expressing myself. While I graduated to the standard paper bags when I got a bit older, I was all about the bulky lunch box in my early years, impressing friends and classmates alike with the colorful Goosebumps and Toxic Crusaders-adorned boxes I kept my treats in.
Okay, so maybe no one actually was impressed, but I thought I was super cool, and that's all that matters.
Nowadays, lunch boxes are as nostalgia-inducing for me as VHS tapes, and the website Kindertrauma recently tapped into that nostalgia with a series of images of faux horror movie-inspired boxes. As the name suggests, Kindertrauma is all about blending the innocence of childhood with the terror of horror flicks, and these fun images are the perfect example of that.
So take a trip to Cafeteria Kindertrauma and check out some of the awesome lunch boxes below. See them all over on Kindertrauma!
